October 2007 . Kitchen Window
Wǒ gěi nǐ chéngsè. Nǐ gěi wǒ chéngsè. I give you orange. You give me orange.
That was meant as a question. My lack of Chinese grammar (and the language in general) really hinders my ability to articulate thoughts. His grasp of the English language is on par with my knowledge of Chinese. It’s an understanding we have of each other and have managed through the years. Ten years. My, the time has gone by fast. It seems just like yesterday I met 9 wonderful ladies during my early years of college, whom I would later refer to as my core group of college friends. Once graduations began, we began peeling away from the pack, off to experience the world around us. We’ve maintained contact with each other through emails, random text messages, the occasional video chat, and individual visits, but we’ve never been able to get all ten of us together under one roof.
