“The next batch of chicken eggs will be delivered this Thursday. $6 per dozen; $3 for half.”

I love that spring is here and that the colorful chicken eggs are bountiful at the farmers market.

“I’ve been frustrated over my current creative canvases.”

On of the big reasons that I most recently abandoned my blog was because I felt a lack of creative inspiration and challenge. I was feeling slightly uninspired in all areas of my life–professionally and personally–and I needed to take some time to reanalyze my goals and desires. I live in such a creative city, one which oozes artistic innovation, and I struggled to feel excited about all of my projects. Then one day, something in my brain clicked, and I’m back. I began looking forward to going to art events, and looking at the ordinary in a new light. It was a feeling that I missed dearly, and was most happy to be feeling again.

“I listen to whether or not you are aware.”

It’s a simple phrase. One that most don’t think of. An ability that I have come to realize of myself is that I’m very much aware of myself and of others. This sounds simple, but really, goes much deeper than a lot of people tend to acknowledge. I am aware of my short comings and my strengths. I act accordingly to enhance the parts of myself that are wonderful and great, and actively acknowledge and work on areas that need help. It’s a constant dialogue that I have with myself. Step away, evaluate, and commit to a course of action. Sometimes when the world feels like it’s whirling around at top speed, a trip to the neighborhood coffee shop helps bring clarity. ♥

“Will you go to the baby elephant orphanage?”

Mr. T takes off today for Africa. For the past few weeks, 90% of my interests have been around whether or not he would visit the The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a baby elephant orphanage in Nairobi Kenya. What started with an animal video of Tupelo and Baylor, led me to discover this wonderful effort to help orphaned baby elephants return to the wild. Mr. T’s been pretty patient (or at least amused) with the amount of obsessing of these gentle giants that I’ve exhibited these past few weeks. But seriously–take a look at the website and tell me that these little elephants, their stories, and their photos/videos–they will warm their way into your hearts.”
