July 2011 . San Francisco
“I like San Francisco.”
After a day of rest in Sacramento, where the cousins stayed with family, and I in turn got much needed rest, we headed out to my home-away-from-home, San Francisco. It was foggy when we got there, which I hoped would eventually burn off. And it did.

July 2011 . Hanford Chinatown
“A large population of Chinese lived here during the construction of the railroad.”
We headed back from Yosemite tired and eager for a warm shower and comfortable bed. After we had freshened up, we headed out to Hanford’s very own Chinatown and received a little lesson on our Chinese American heritage. Today, Chinatown consists of a one-block alley and was once home to Chinese immigrants in the late 19th century who came here to work on the railroad and on farms.

“He copied my pronunciation. Yo-sem-i-t”
Remember a while back when I mentioned I had been away for 17 days? I’m finally getting around to sharing the incredible journey that we had. It was a gathering of the cousins. We came from all over–Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Taiwan! It was wonderful connecting with family and helping to family. Our first stop was a camping/hiking trip to Yosemite.

“Holy Halloween, Batman!”
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mr. T and I spent it eating candy and watching Batman–but not just any Batman movie–the Batman movie from 1966. Chock full of comical cheese to satisfy our low-key Halloween weekend. Tonight, I’m looking forward to seeing all the little tykes dressed in their costumes for some tricks and treats. Will you be out celebrating?
