December 2010 . Cinnamon Roll Recipe
He said, “I wish I was a neighbor…” To his comment I remarked, “but I consider you a neighbor–even if there’s an ocean between us.”
I consider myself fortunate for the people who’ve come and gone in my life. I tend to think of them as ships, some which pass quietly through the night and others who dock for a while. Over the past 15-ish years, we’d find ourselves chatting up hour+ long storms consisting of filling each other in on the gaps between the last talk. They’re filled with jokes, heartfelt well wishes, and discussions on food, life, and relationships. I cherish these moments so much, that after one inspiring conversation, I baked and shipped him some cookies! Last month I participated in Brandi’s Winter Recipe Exchange and having mailed out my recipe, I’m now the happy recipient of three new recipes, of which I’m super eager to bake, photograph and share next week when I’m on holiday from work.
Have I told you that I can’t wait to make your cinnamon rolls? They sound so perfect. And I owe you an email, I think. Promise I’ll do that today.
Let me know how those cinnamon rolls turn out! That’s the first time I’ve shared my mother’s recipe and am curious to know how well the instructions are written.
Brandi’s such a dear and I love what you said about the people one meets! So true and lovely! I’ve enjoyed discovering your sweet blog this year and since I’ll likely lose internet access after today, wanted to wish you the most wonderful Christmas and New Year’s! Hope it’s filled with good times with loved ones, delicious food and well-deserved R&R!
Thank you, Jude! I feel the same way reading your blog. It’s really been a treat to read and connect with people who have the same affections. I hope that you’ll see this message again when you get your Internet back. Have a wonderful New Year!
Glad you enjoyed the exchange! Hope you’ve had a chance to bake the lovely goodies. I’m still trying to find time but hoping it happens really soon.
