My apologies for the lack of bakery-related posts. I’m in a transition state–new spaces await and I’ll have another go at completing Apartment Therapy’s Eight-Step Home Cure. Since receiving this wonderful book, I have cooked approximately 80% of my meals from these mouthwatering pages. March 2010 . homemade french macaroons

What started out as a cold, overcast Saturday morning to the farmer’s market turned out to be a lovely afternoon in the kitchen baking french macaroons. This was my first attempt and as I continue to refine this recipe, there will be many more to come. I believe I’ve found a new favorite cookie. <3

**edit: though lovely to look at, this first attempt at macaroons turned out tooth-aching too sweet. I’m planning to make some alterations to the recipe and as soon as I do, a recipe will follow.
